The Cuyahoga Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) is committed to serving the families of Cuyahoga County by providing quality child support services through establishing parentage, enforcing support orders and collecting and disbursing child support. The agency's goal is to get more money for more families by assisting in paternity establishment and establishing and enforcing support orders.
CSEA is now waiving or compromising child support arrears that are owed to the state for those that are not able to pay them. Call 216.698.2525 to see if you qualify and to start the process!
The primary purpose of the CSEA is to ensure that the custodial parents of children receive the support payments due them under support orders. In fulfilling this purpose, the Child Support Enforcement Agency, using administrative judicial and processes, establishes paternity, establishes support orders, receives and disburses support payments and enforces support orders.
Paternity is established through a genetic testing process, using the Buccal Swab method, a simple non-invasive procedure. There is no cost to the family if CSEA orders genetic testing. Once paternity is determined, a hearing is scheduled for the non-custodial parent to establish a child support order.
Services are provided at CSEA's main office and through outreach offices in Neighborhood Family Service Centers, which are conveniently located throughout the Greater Cleveland area. The Outreach Division of CSEA is committed to providing quality child support services to children and families within their neighborhoods and at local hospitals at the time of a child's birth.
