Purple Light Nights: Providing Hope for the Community

The Healthy Fathering Collaborative joins the Domestic Violence Center in lighting up the county during the month of October to raise awareness of the critical issue of domestic violence.

Purple Light Nights is a campaign designed to shine a light on a problem that is often associated with silence and shame. Help us ensure the safety of our community's women, men, teens and children during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Shine a purple light bulb on your porch, in your office, or hang a string of lights on a tree from Oct. 1 - 31 2008.  Shine a light to: Remember domestic violence victims, Celebrate the courage of those who have survived, and Provide hope, information and services to those who are still living with violence and abuse. All programs in our network are open to fathers or fathers-to-be of all ages, unless otherwise noted.
Teen fathers are particularly encouraged to get involved - check out our Programs for Teens

In addition, any man who is actively involved in the life of a child, or wants to get involved, is also encouraged to seek services.  Programs are open to uncles, grandfathers, older brothers, male mentors, family friends.
There can never be too many healthy father figures in the lives of Cleveland's children.
