Programs
The Fathers and Sons of Northeast Ohio program has three components: The first component is facilitating a fatherhood education class at on site locations in Summit and Cuyahoga Counties. FSONEO also provides other community minded individuals with the opportunity to attend Fatherhood “Train the Trainer” classes. Learn through on the job training to conduct on site fatherhood education classes at local community based correctional facilities, men’s homeless shelters, veteran medical centers, long term correctional institutions and more.
The second program component is providing supportive services that lead to the removal of barriers that prevent fathesr from practicing responsible fatherhood. FSONEO also provides intensive case management for single fathers who are involved in a reunification plan or case plan with Children’s Service agencies, including limited transportation and communication services for a period of thirty days as part of our mentoring program for single fathers. We meet with fathers at least once a week and track their progress with seeking permanent housing, employment, visitation and court appearances. Working with our site providers we have deveolped a collaborative case management teams. We advocate for graduates of our classes, reinstatement of their driver’s license, warrants dropped so that they can get subsidized housing and help with completing a request for reduction of child support by requesting a modification hearing and/or reduction of payment if they are suffering from a mental or physical disability, or chronic unemployment secondary to felony convictions or lack of education.

The third program component is a Bridge the Gap Green Collar Jobs program, helping to prepare fathers for the emerging field of green jobs.
Mission: Helping Men Be Better Fathers
Purpose: We help men remove the barriers that prevent them from achieving their goals as responsible fathers. We impact the lives of families by teaching dads new fathering skills, offering innovative vocational training and providing supportive services.
Objective: To equip men to become leaders in their homes and the community. We also encourage them to practice responsible fatherhood by being involved in the lives of their children.
